Fall begins, but warm & rain ahead for this week – Saturday Forecast Update @wvua23 #ALwx

Fall begins Saturday at 8:54 PM CT, with tomorrow as the first full day of Fall. It certainly doesn’t feel like it, with highs this week reaching the mid to upper 90s.

Rain showers earlier this afternoon helped cool down game day here in Tuscaloosa. Towns that stayed dry though reached the mid 90s today. Tomorrow I expect the same with some isolated showers possible, but high temperatures in the low 90s.

Monday the pattern changes, with a stalled front fueling daily showers and storms. These will be scattered in nature with some locations staying dry. However, I think that most places will see measurable rainfall this week at some point. The good news is that these showers and clouds will keep temperatures slightly cooler in the upper 80s. This is still at or above average for this time of year.

By the end of the week, rain chances go away and temperatures return to around 90 degrees. As of now, no break in this above normal temperature pattern is expected within the the next week or two.
