Hot Days… Increased Rain Chances Ahead… Monday Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Monday afternoon! At 4pm, a few spotty storms have developed during the afternoon heating process. Most areas will remain rain-free through this evening. Storms will fade away by sunset this evening. Expect a very mild and muggy night, with lows in the middle 70s.

Tuesday will be nearly identical to today. We’ll mention the chance of a few pop up afternoon storms. Most spots will remain dry, but don’t be shocked if you hear thunder or have a quick afternoon downpour. Highs will reach the middle 90s on Tuesday.

By Wednesday and Thursday, a weakening surface front will drift in from the north. I expect an increased rain chance both on Wednesday and Thursday, but it will not rain all day. The risk of rain is at 40% on Wednesday and up to 60% on Thursday.

We’ll maintain a good chance of scattered showers and storms on Friday, Saturday and even on Sunday. Keep in mind, storms will be scattered, meaning some spots will get a heavy rain and others will miss out. It’s the odds game we deal with on Summer days.

The tropics remain quiet..
