Nice Easter Weekend! Friday Forecast Update – 3:50pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather started off cloudy this morning, but all areas are in full sunshine this afternoon. With the added sunshine, many areas quickly warmed into the upper 60s. Expect a cool night tonight, with a low in the lower 40s.

Easter weekend will be perfect for outdoor events. Look for a good supply of sun on Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the middle to upper 70s. It will be a little chilly Saturday morning with low 40s in the area and Sunday morning, with sunrise temperatures in the upper 40s.

We’ll warm into the lower 80s both Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, under a partly sunny sky.

Our next front will arrive by Wednesday morning of next week, with a good chance of showers and maybe a few storms. The main rain chance will come between midnight Tuesday night and noon Wednesday morning. While the overall severe risk appears low at this time, I can’t rule out a few storms producing strait line winds in the area. We’ll carefully watch it. I don’t see a tornado risk at the moment.
