Cooler, then Heavy Rain… Sunday Eve Forecast Update – 6:30 PM @wvua23 #alwx

Good Sunday evening! It’s mostly cloudy this evening, with some overnight showers likely. No major accumulations however for tonight.

Tomorrow we will have a “wedge” front moving in from the east, bringing in gusty winds and cooler temperatures. Showers will be most likely before lunchtime, with overcast skies through the remainder of the day. High temperatures will range from the low 50s in eastern Alabama to the low 60s in western Alabama.

On Tuesday we all get warmer, with highs around 70 degrees. Clouds will remain though, with only a few peeks of sunshine. As of now, I can’t rule out a spotty shower on Tuesday, so the rain chance is 20%.

Wednesday and Thursday:

Mid-week is when our rain chance ramps up, with a slow moving front pushing in from the west. Temperatures will be warm, in the upper 70s on Wednesday, but fall to the low 70s on Thursday as the front passes. Rainfall totals could be 2-3 inches along and north of I-59, and 1-2 inches south of I-59. I’m not expecting any severe storms, but some rumbles of thunder are possible on both days.

Into Next Weekend:

Friday will be a day of clearing, with temperatures around 70. But as we head into the weekend, temperatures will climb into the mid-70s with mostly sunny skies.
