Severe Weather Update for Sunday/Monday 10pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.pngSunday:

Sunday will be a mostly mild day with a few showers possible in the morning but most areas will stay dry until the evening. The evening hours is when things start to get sticky here in central Alabama. The NWS has issues us under a MARGINAL risk right now for severe weather with storms moving in from the west in the evening. These storms will start to move west to east into Alabama at around 9-10pm. The main risk so far associated with these storms are hail and the possibility of damaging winds. There is a small chance for a pop up tornado however, right now the risk for this is low. The chance for severe weather will decrease in Tuscaloosa by around 2am.

The severity of the storms moving in Monday has a lot to do with how much day time heating we see here in Tuscaloosa. Storms will be stronger on Monday evening than the ones you see tomorrow. We are under a SLIGHT risk for Monday. Again the main concerns right now are for hail and strong winds. There is a chance for tornadoes so do not rule one out. Models are currently disagreeing with the severity of the storm so there is not strong confidence in reports be given out. No matter what, here on WVUA we will give you latest details as we receive them.
