Good Thursday afternoon! Our local weather started off cold this morning, with a widespread light freeze and frost. With a sunny sky, temperatures made it into the middle 50s this afternoon, but a northwest breeze added a chill to the air this afternoon. Temperatures tonight will drop fast, with a widespread light freeze and frost. Given a clear sky, calm wind and dry air, we are setting the stage for a cold night. Below is a map of what you can expect in your area in terms of a low temperature.

Freeze Map with Numbers Night 2.png

We’ll begin a warming trend Friday afternoon and Saturday, with highs well into the 60s. We could even reach 70 on Saturday. Clouds increase Saturday, and showers will move in during the afternoon. We’ll have a soaking rain and maybe some thunder Saturday night, but severe weather is unlikely. Showers will move out early on Sunday, with rain amounts near 1 to 2 inches with this system″.

The air will turn cooler again early next week, and there is a chance we will have a widespread frost with the next wave. It appears Monday night and Tuesday night of next week would be the higher risk of a frost, but we’ll have more detail on that as we get closer. Highs will dip back into the middle 50s on Monday, with upper 50s on Tuesday and Wednesday. Model data suggests a warm ridge will build into the area by the end of next week and the next weekend, which should allow for a nice warming trend.
