Cool Now… Warmer Temps Ahead… Monday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Monday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out much cooler and damp today, as the cold front northwest of Alabama yesterday has moved through central Alabama. The front has stalled to our south, but uplift behind the front has allowed for fairly widespread showers to continue at times today. Showers will gradually thin out this evening and tonight, with temperatures remaining steady overnight.

Tuesday will be a warmer day, as the front south of our area backs northward. We’ll have mid to upper 60s along and north of I-20, with some spots reaching 70 along HWY 80. Skies remain mostly cloudy on Tuesday, with a small chance of  a shower.

Showers increase on Wednesday, as uplift increases across the area. The best chance of showers will be along and north of I-20 on Wednesday. Look for a high near 70.

We’ll really warm nicely on Thursday, with a high in the middle 70s. Our next cold front arrives late in the day on Friday, with showers expected along and even behind the front.
