Cold Tonight… Clearing Ahead… Sunday Eve Forecast Update #alwx @wvua23

Good Sunday evening! It has been a wet weekend, with many spots getting more than an inch and a half of rainfall. The cold front will be moving through central Alabama tonight, bringing in cooler air. We’ll be clearing out overnight with lows getting down to the lower 40s.

Monday morning could see some lingering showers, but then the clouds will start to break as we head into the afternoon. Still cooler with highs only in the upper 50s, but we may finally get a chance to see the sun.

Tuesday will be the driest day we’ve had in a while with partly cloudy skies. Southerly winds will help high temperatures reach around 70 degrees. East Alabama could stay in the 60s on Tuesday because of a wedge setup blowing in cooler air from the east.

Wednesday and Thursday the Gulf moisture finally makes it way back up to central Alabama and we have rain chance both days. Wednesday’s highs will be in the low 70s, with Thursday reaching the mid 70s.

I’m also keeping an eye on some isolated showers for Friday and Saturday, but I do think those days will be drier. Another system will arrive sometime next weekend bringing another round of rain and dropping temperatures to the mid 60s.
