Heavy Rain Moving In Overnight… More Weekend Rain… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:15pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather turned out warmer than expected today, with areas along and south of I-20 reaching the lower 70s. Meanwhile, north of the warm front, it is 48 degrees in Haleyville at 4pm! Showers are increasing in coverage and will continue to do so through the evening hours. Have the umbrella handy tonight through lunch Wednesday. The heavier rain will arrive after midnight, then move out of our area during the early to mid morning hours on Wednesday. Rain amounts will range from 1 to 3 inches with this event.

Temperatures will drop on Wednesday, with all areas in the lower 50s by noon. Clouds decrease Wednesday night, and temperatures will fall into the lower 30s. Look for a partly to mostly sunny sky on Thursday, with a high in the upper 50s to near 60. Clouds will once again increase early on Friday. Showers will increase as well by Friday afternoon and evening. I don’t expect heavy rain on Friday, but I would hold onto your umbrella Friday afternoon and night.

Periods of rain will become likely on Saturday, with highs in the 60s over the weekend. Rain amounts will likely approach, if not surpass 1″ over the upcoming weekend. Skies will remain mostly cloudy over the upcoming weekend, with highs in the 60s.  Below is a look at how much rain is possible over the next 7 days between several waves of rain and storms. Keep in mind, it will not rain for 7 days non-stop…
