Sunny Weather Returns…But Not For Long. Sunday Forecast Update, 6:50 PM. #wxal @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM1Good Sunday evening! Rain quickly scooted out of central Alabama this morning. The clouds, on the other hand, took longer to get the memo. They are still moving out as we speak , but most got a decent dose of sun before sunset. Tonight, skies continue to clear and winds will be fairly calm, so plan on a chilly evening with many dropping to right around freezing. Monday will host plenty of sun, but a lingering rush of cold air that is on the way will hold our temperatures in the 50’s tomorrow.

The coming forecast will be a wild ride because of the constant change from sunny weather to rain. Monday we have lots of sun, but as we head into Tuesday morning, rain moves back into the forecast. Most will see an increase mainly in clouds, besides some in west Alabama catching a few isolated sprinkles. The brunt of the rain arrives that evening and will last through the night and into Wednesday. This will be much needed since this should start to tap away at our drought conditions. Wednesday night into Thursday, we turn dry and skies clear out again. Thursday will be full of lots of sun. The clears skies will last into Friday morning, before the forecast changes again.

Friday night and into the weekend, yet another frontal system dives south bringing another round of rain for Alabama. Rain looks to start very late Friday night and last into Saturday. Timing is still not 100%, but some showers could linger into early Sunday morning.
