Rain Tonight Lasts Into Tomorrow AM. Saturday Forecast Update, 5:50pm. #wxal @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Saturday evening! We started the morning with mostly sunny skies and unfortunately didn’t stay that way. Clouds have slowly trickled in throughout the day and we are now mostly cloudy. To our south, we are observing a large mass of rain that is slowly making its way to the northeast that will eventually move into west Alabama later this evening and last through the night and into early tomorrow morning. The hope is that this large mass of rain won’t lose its “steam” and will bring a decent amount of rain for Alabama tonight to help alleviate our drought conditions.

Tomorrow, rain wraps up before lunchtime for most. Clouds will hang around longer though. It won’t be until that evening that we start to see skies start to clear. Colder weather will hold off until that night to start moving in.

Monday will start the work week off cool and with mostly sunny skies; however, that quickly changes. Tuesday we again see increasing clouds and another front moves into Alabama bringing with it another dose of needed rain. That rain will last into Wednesday. We then turn dry again Thursday and remain that way into Friday.

Friday night and into the weekend, yet another frontal system dives south bringing another round of rain for Alabama. At this rate, if they all turn out to be major rain producers, we could see some real relief on the way to our drought.
