Weekend Showers… Cooler Monday & Tuesday… Friday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! Our local weather has featured increasing clouds today, as moisture streams in from the Gulf. Showers will begin to develop by early Saturday morning, but this evening will be dry if you have plans outdoors. Expect a low in the upper 40s overnight.

Saturday, we’ll have periods of light rain and showers through the day. Rain amounts don’t appear to be overly heavy with this event, with mainly enough to need the rain gear from time to time. Look for a high near 60 on Saturday, but some spots may stay in the upper 50s during the afternoon.

Showers move out by lunch on Sunday, with drier afternoon conditions. Look for a high between 58 and 60 on Sunday. Rain amounts of 0.25″ to 0.50″ appear likely for most of the area.

Temperatures will trend cooler on Monday, with a high in the lower 50s. We’ll have plenty of sunshine on Monday and Tuesday. We’ll drop into the upper 40s for highs on Tuesday, with a chilly north breeze. Sunshine will remain with us for Tuesday and Wednesday. This pop of cooler air will be very short lived, as we’ll warm into the upper 50s to near 60 on Wednesday. Low 60s are likely on Thursday.

Models continue to hint at a shot of cooler air coming in on Friday. At this point, this surge of cooler air coming by Friday and next weekend looks similar to the cooler air early next week. I don’t see any signs of extreme cold; in-fact, models have been trending warmer with next weekend’s surge of cooler air. That one appears to be short lived as well.
