Rain Tonight… Very Cold Days Ahead… Thursday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23


Good Thursday afternoon! Our local weather is very mild today, with temperatures reaching the 70s! Skies remain cloudy, with occasional showers moving from south to north across the area. Look for a good soaking rain to arrive tonight, with locally heavy rain after midnight. Rain amounts overnight will approach 1″…

Rain ends early Friday morning, with some drizzle possible into the early afternoon. Temperatures will start off at 5am in the 60s on Friday, then falling into the 30s by mid morning and remaining in the 30s for the rest of the day. Expect middle 20s Friday night, with a cloudy sky and breezy northwest wind. Wind chill will be in the teens or single digits overnight.

Skies remain mostly cloudy early on Saturday, with a slow decrease in clouds by the afternoon. Highs will top out in the upper 30s on Saturday and Sunday. Look for a temperature near 20 Sunday morning, with some teens to the north of I-20.

Monday will be a tad warmer, with a high in the upper 40s. Another surge of even colder air will come in Monday night into Tuesday morning. Some areas may stay below freezing all day on Tuesday, with a harsh northwest wind. Lows will fall well into the teens Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Highs will remain in the 30s through Wednesday and Thursday.

It will get very cold and stay cold for several days through the weekend and into the middle portion of next week, so get ready for another cold snap.. Highs will remain in the 30s on Saturday and Sunday, especially north of I-20. Lows will fall well below freezing, with lower 20s to upper teens by Sunday morning.
