Cold for Now… Warmer by Sunday… Tuesday Forecast Update 3:45pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! After a very cold start to the day, the sunshine allowed temperatures to warm into the lower 30s this afternoon. Most areas managed to climb just above freezing, with low to middle 30s at 3:45pm. Temperatures will drop fast tonight, with a low in the upper teens. Clouds increase tonight, but the air will be too dry for precip.

Clouds will decrease on Wednesday, with an afternoon high in the upper 30s. Look for a light northwest breeze with increasing sunshine by afternoon. We’ll drop into the upper teens again Wednesday night.

Thursday will be a little cooler, with highs in the middle 30s. Areas along the HWY 278 corridor over north Alabama will remain below freezing all day Thursday. We’ll fall into the lower to middle teens again Thursday night.

Friday will remain cold, with a high in the upper 30s. Temperatures Friday night will fall into the upper teens for the last time for a while. We’ll begin a warming trend on Saturday, with a high in the middle 40s. With a good dose of sunshine, middle 40s will actually feel pretty nice compared to current conditions.

We’ll continue to warm a bit on Sunday, with a high in the middle 50s. Clouds increase Sunday afternoon ahead of our next rain maker. A soaking rain and some thunder will move through the area on Monday. Highs will reach the upper 50s given the Gulf air trying to move northward.
