Very Warm Days Continue… Friday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! It’s a really mild and muggy day across Alabama, with a few spotty showers and storms on radar as of 4:30pm. I expect a chance of a few scattered showers and storms to remain with us through this evening, but most areas will not get rain. If you’re going to a local high school football game, take the umbrella or poncho to be safe, but I expect most stadiums to be dry. Expect temperatures to fall into the 60s after 10pm.

Upper level ridging will build in from the Gulf over the weekend, allowing for rain chances to decrease and temperatures to increase. We’ll reach 80 both Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. A few showers are still possible on Saturday, but I do not expect rain on Sunday or Monday.

Alabama takes on LSU in Bryant-Denny Saturday night. Expect a partly cloudy sky, with temperatures in the middle 70s at kickoff and lower 60s to upper 60s by the end of the game in Tuscaloosa. While rain is unlikely during game time, I can’t rule out a stray shower. The risk of that is low, but we’ll watch radar trends.

A weak surface front will approach Alabama from the north on Wednesday, with a good chance of showers or light rain on Wednesday. Temperatures will drop a bit as the front slips to our south. Temperatures could start off in the upper 60s to lower 70s in the morning, then fall as the front passes through. Highs will only reach the lower to middle 60s on Thursday, with a few morning showers.
