Few Showers Ahead… Very Mild Weekend… Thursday Forecast Update – 4:25pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Thursday afternoon! As a warm front lifts northeast across our area today, there is a big airmass change that is noticed. Conditions that were rather cool and damp yesterday are now very warm and humid today. A few showers are ongoing this evening on radar, and I expect a few scattered showers and maybe a few storms to remain possible overnight. The best chance of a passing shower or storm will be over west and northwest Alabama, with very limited chances to the southeast of I-59. Look for lows in the middle 60s tonight.

Friday will feature a chance of isolated showers and storms, but most areas will remain dry. The higher risk of a passing shower or storm will be north of I-20 on Friday. Some areas, especially south of I-20 could reach 80 degrees.

Upper level ridging will build in from the Gulf over the weekend, allowing for rain chances to decrease and temperatures to increase. We’ll reach 80 both Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. An isolated shower is still possible on Saturday, but I do not expect rain on Sunday or Monday. We’ll remain warm through much of next week.

Alabama takes on LSU in Bryant-Denny Saturday night. Expect a partly cloudy sky, with temperatures in the middle 70s at kickoff and lower 60s to upper 60s by the end of the game in Tuscaloosa…
