Warmer Days Ahead… A Few Showers… Wednesday Forecast Update 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Wednesday  afternoon! Our local weather has featured a cloudy sky today, with a few scattered showers and areas of light rain. This is all in response to a very weak surface low and upper level disturbance that is basically fizzling out. The risk of a few showers will continue this evening, but I do not expect heavy rain. Expect temperatures to hold steady through midnight, with lower 60s, then a slow warming trend between midnight and sunrise tomorrow.

Thursday and Friday will include a mostly cloudy sky and mild temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 70s both afternoons, with a light south breeze. A few isolated showers are possible both days, but widespread heavy rain is not expected.

Upper level ridging will build in from the Gulf over the weekend, allowing for rain chances to decrease and temperatures to increase. We’ll reach 80 both Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. An isolated shower is still possible on Saturday, but I do not expect rain on Sunday or Monday. We’ll remain warm through much of next week.

Alabama takes on LSU in Bryant-Denny Saturday night. Expect a partly cloudy sky, with temperatures in the middle 70s at kickoff and lower 60s to upper 60s by the end of the game in Tuscaloosa…
