Warm Week but Cooler Air is Coming. Forecast update 11pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.pngToday expect another hot afternoon with highs in the upper 80s low 90s. This morning we started off with mostly sunny skies and that will be the trend throughout this afternoon and the entire week. This will help those feel like temperatures today to reach into the mid 90s so make sure to stay hydrated if you have outdoor plans this week.

We have a chance for a few areas to see an afternoon shower today. Any rain should be light and dissipate quickly.

Big football game this afternoon for the Crimson Tide in Nashville. If you are heading to that game be aware of a very hot day there as well. At 2:30 kickoff temperatures will be around 90 with mostly sunny skies. By the end of the game temperatures should only decrease by about 2 degrees. Wear lots of sunscreen!

Hurricane Maria is still moving in the Atlantic. She is off the east coast as a category 3 hurricane right now. Good new, the states should not be impacted by this major hurricane and within a few days she will be gone completely.

Back closer to home, we are in the fall season now but we can’t feel it right now. Fortunately, models are showing some cooler air push in on Friday with lows in the AM around the low 60s and a high for the day of about 80. Look at Saturday morning though, lows are in the 50s! That is a little closer to the fall weather we’d expect!
