Hot Days Continue… Iso. PM Storms.. Thursday Forecast Update – 4:15pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Thursday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out hot, hazy and humid again today, with only a few pop up storms on radar. Most areas will remain dry through this evening. The risk of a stray storm will diminish by sunset.

Fall officially begins on Friday, but it will not feel much like Fall. Temperatures will top out in the lower 90s, with a heat index in the middle to upper 90s. A passing afternoon shower or storm can’t be ruled out, but most areas remain dry through Sunday.

Next week, drier air will filter into the area. Highs will top out in the upper 80s, with little to no rain chance. Skies will remain mostly sunny.

Maria is still a major hurricane just southeast of the Bahamas. Winds have increased to 120mph, but additional intensification appears unlikely. A slow weakening trend will take over by late weekend and into next week, as Maria passes between Bermuda and the US. I don’t see any evidence of this making landfall in the US.
