Mild Days with Increasing Rain Chances… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out mild this afternoon, with highs reaching the upper 80s to low 90s across central and west Alabama. Moisture levels are beginning to increase, and that will be evident tonight, as clouds increase. A stray sprinkle is possible overnight, but widespread rain is not expected.

Wednesday will include a mix of sun and clouds, with a high in the upper 80s. A stray shower is possible, but widespread rain is not expected. The chance of scattered storms will increase to 30% on Thursday, with a higher chance of getting a passing storm or two south of I-20.

An upper air trough and weak surface front will stall out across north Alabama on Friday and Saturday, which will help to enhance the number of scattered storms across the area. Look for a good chance of scattered storms at times Friday through the weekend. As another front approaches and stalls nearby early next week, we’ll maintain a good chance of occasional to scattered showers and storms. I do not expect it to rain all day, but keep the umbrella handy through the weekend into next week as well.
