Lower Humidity For A Nice Sunday. Saturday Forecast Update, 5:15pm. #wxal @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.pngGood Saturday evening! It was a warm one today with a mix of sun and clouds. Showers and storms remained to our south today, leaving us high and dry. Tonight will be considerably cooler as dry air funnels into the south, behind the line of rain near the coast. That dry air mass will make for a very nice Sunday. Temperatures will be around 90 degrees but that hot temperature will be much more tolerable with such dry air in place.

The trend of dry air creating tolerable weather will last into about Tuesday. Then, we will start to see humidity begin to slowly increase Wednesday. That increase in humidity means we will see a rise in moisture content in the air, so we might see a stray shower or two on Thursday; however, Friday rain chances start to climb back up because a sagging trough from the north will drape into the southeast, bringing some showers and storms.

The increase of rain chances will last into next weekend. It shouldn’t become a total wash-out for everyone. Instead it will be similar to what Alabama has been experiencing this summer with scattered storms producing local heavy downpours.

The tropics are mainly calm right now. There is one complex that is of some interest that’s in the western Atlantic right now. Development does not look favorable at this time.
