Nice Weekend Ahead! Friday Forecast Update – 4:15pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! We started off the day very wet across northern portions of Alabama, with a large cluster of rain and storms to the north of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. The storms helped to stabilize things for the rest of our area, keeping most of the rain out of our area as of 4pm this afternoon. I still expect a few storms to pass through the area this evening and tonight, so take the umbrella if you have outdoor plans.

A surface cold front is approaching from the north, and this will bring a noticeable airmass change for Saturday and Sunday. Look for gradual clearing Saturday morning, with any rain chance occurring south of I-20. Most of our area will not get rain on Saturday, as lower humidity pushes into the area. Highs will top out in the upper 80s to near 90 on Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday night temperatures in the middle 60s. Humidity will remain low to start off next week. Temperatures will be close to average as we start off the month of August.

The tropics are quiet, and development is not expected for the next few days.
