Hot Days! Nice By Sunday… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Tuesday afternoon! At 4:30pm, a few scattered storms are ongoing across the state, but most areas are dry. Expect a chance of a passing shower or storm to remain rather low this evening, with rain chances diminishing overnight. Lows will dip into the middle 70s, with a muggy feel to the air.

Upper level ridging will build across the area on Wednesday and Thursday, forcing rain chances to decrease and temperatures to increase. Highs will approach the middle 90s during the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday, with a heat index nearing 105. An isolated afternoon shower or storm can’t be ruled out.

A surface front will approach Alabama by Friday night and early Saturday, bringing a risk of scattered storms during the afternoon on Friday and into Friday night. The best chance of dealing with a passing storm on Saturday will be south of I-20, as the surface front moves through the area. Models agree on a drier airmass, with lower humidity on Sunday and Monday. Highs will top out in the upper 80s, with lows well down into the 60s Saturday night and Sunday night.
