Scattered Storms This Weekend… Friday Forecast Update – 3:50pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Friday afternoon! As of 4pm, there are a good many scattered storms across the area. While some areas will miss the rain, where storms do form, they will drop very heavy rain in a short period of time. The risk of hit or miss storms will diminish by 10pm tonight, with very muggy conditions overnight.

A weak surface front will move into north Alabama this weekend, which will help to enhance the risk of scattered storms on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It will not rain everywhere, but the risk of dealing with a passing downpour is pretty high. If you get a storm where you are this weekend, it shouldn’t last more than an hour or two. Severe weather is not expected, but a few storms could become strong.

Rain chances will decrease next week, with highs approaching the mid 90s.
