Mostly Dry Monday, Besides Southeast Counties. Sunday Forecast Update, 9:15pm. #wxal @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Sunday evening! We remained mostly dry across central Alabama today besides some of our southern most counties, like Coose and Chilton. There, they’ve seen very isolated showers and storms. Everyone else has seen a nice mix of clouds and sun. Tonight, that rain will end and everyone will experience partly cloudy skies. Monday will start the work week similar to today with our southern most counties having the slight chance for a quick shower. Everyone else will see weather exactly like what we had today.

Tuesday the trough to our south that’s been producing showers and storms for the coast will shift northward and provide the ever so slight chance for some isolated showers across central Alabama for the afternoon. Wednesday through Friday, that trough will be resting over the entire state. It, combined with moisture return from the Gulf, will result in the chance for isolated showers and storms every afternoon.

This weekend, we could potentially see a new boundary line (trough) develop and move over the state that would in an a dramatic increase in rain; however, that’s still a bit far out and not all models agree on this trend. That, said, I’m slightly bumping rain chances to accommodate, but I’m not completely jumping on board yet. Regardless, we will see a little rain next weekend, but not enough yet to drop any plans you might have.
