Mostly Dry for Sunday, Besides Southeast. Saturday Forecast Update, 5:50p.m. #wxal @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM

Good Saturday evening! It was a good day to stay in and relax with storms rolling through Alabama. Most across central Alabama are now dry, besides some lighter showers. Those should be coming quickly to an end. Tonight, we remain dry but cloud cover should stay firmly in place, especially across the southern half of central Alabama. The good news is, tonight should feel much more pleasant with drier air moving in behind the trough that brought storms through earlier. Tomorrow, most of central Alabama will remain dry; however, our southeastern counties will see some isolated storms with the back end of the trough still hanging over there. The rest of central Alabama should see a mixture of clouds and sun.

Going into next work week, the trough will continue to spark the opportunity for a few isolated storms for our southeastern counties on Monday. By Tuesday, the trough will start to gradually shift back northward, shifting rain chances northward with it. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday take on a more summer time pattern with highs in the 90’s and isolated to scattered rain chances every afternoon, thanks to ample summer time heating and moist, humid air resting over the southeast.

Next weekend will likely continue this typical summer-time pattern both days. Don’t let the rain chances scare you into not making any plans…storms will be scattered so not everyone will see rain.
