Scattered Storms Ahead… Hot & Humid… Wednesday Forecast Update – 4:15pm

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather has been hot again today, with most areas reaching the low 90s. With a dewpoint in the upper 70s, heat index levels have approached 105, which is approaching the dangerous category. A few scattered storms have developed across north and central Alabama, with the best coverage near and north of I-20. Storms will gradually fade away this evening. Expect lows in the middle 70s overnight.

Thursday and Friday will feature very similar weather. Highs will reach the low 90s, with a 40% risk of a passing downpour or two. It may rain for 20 to 30 minutes in one spot, and not a drop fall a mile down the road. Storms scattered like this are very random, with the best chance of forming during the early to mid afternoon hours, then ending around sunset.

Not much change is expected for the weekend. Look for hot conditions, with a few scattered, mainly afternoon and evening storms. Highs will top out near 90, with a low in the lower 70s.

We are watching a an area in the central Atlantic for possible tropical development, but it is about to move through an unfavorable environment and may dissipate in coming days…
