Strong Showers moving in Tomorrow. Forecast update 7pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.pngGood Friday evening! It was a very wet day across the state today!! Luckily those showers are pushing to the east now and areas are starting to clear up for this evening. This won’t last long though…

Tomorrow will start off dry. If you plan on driving somewhere for the holiday weekend get on the road early! Storms will push in tomorrow afternoon. There is a chance for some of these storms to be severe with strong damaging winds. Not all areas will see these winds though. The greatest risk is areas north of I-20. Showers should be in after 1pm.

Once those showers have passed it looks like it will be a dry Saturday night for most areas. Sunday will be similar in the sense that most areas will stay dry in the AM and showers return in the PM. This weekend won’t be a complete washout though, there will be times of sun and clouds.

Highs for the next week are trending in the lows 90s. Dew points are remaining in the 70s which is not uncommon for the south during summer, so when you go outside don’t be surprised by very humid air.

The 4th of July is Tuesday and yes there is a chance for rain. However, the day will see times of sun and a few showers. Don’t let this keep you from cooking out because it will not rain too much. As of now showers seem to have moved out in time for 9pm or later fireworks.

Have a safe holiday weekend!
