Dry For Now… Storms Return Soon… Monday Forecast Update – 4:25pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Monday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out nice today, with a good supply of sunshine and low humidity. Temperatures this afternoon have warmed into the upper 80s. Expect a fast drop in temperatures this evening, with a low in the lower 60s.

A surface high will keep our area dry through Wednesday, with comfortable nights and mild afternoons. Highs will reach the upper 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday. As the surface high slides to our east, a return flow will develop on Thursday. Expect a few scattered showers and storms Thursday afternoon and evening, under a partly sunny sky.

Friday through the weekend looks rather unsettled. I expect a good chance of a few scattered storms, but I do not expect an all day type of rain event. Storms may last up to an hour in one spot before moving on. Highs will remain in the mid to upper 80s Friday through Sunday. Rain amounts will vary drastically due to the nature of scattered storms. If you have outdoor plans to a lake, pool or river this weekend, make sure you go indoors if you hear thunder.
