Storms Ending This Eve… Isolated PM Storms Ahead… Thursday Forecast Update 4:15pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Thursday afternoon! At 4pm, a large cluster of rain and storms covers a good portion of west and central Alabama. Storms are gradually moving from northwest to the southeast. There have been a number of severe thunderstorm warnings across central Alabama, with reports of a few trees and powerlines down. Storms will gradually come to an end this evening from northwest to southeast, with muggy conditions tonight. We’ll need to keep an eye on fog developing overnight.

The storms we had today across our area will likely stabilize the atmosphere a bit for Friday, so widespread storms are not expected on Friday. The risk of a few isolated storms during the afternoon is at 30%, so keep the umbrella handy incase a passing downpour moves over your area.

Father’s Day weekend will include hot temperatures with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will approach 90 on Saturday and on Sunday. The risk of any one spot getting a passing afternoon storm is at 40% both days.

A surface front will move in from the northwest Monday night into early Tuesday. Expect a risk of showers and storms along the front Monday afternoon into Monday night. A few showers may develop on Tuesday, with the better chance happening south of I-20.
