Scattered Storms Continue… Friday Forecast Update – 4:25pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Friday afternoon! Its another very humid day, with scattered showers and storms in spots. These storms are very random and have been developing across portions of west and central Alabama. Look for the risk of scattered storms to diminish by midnight tonight, with areas of fog developing late.

Saturday will feature very similar conditions, with a partly to mostly cloudy sky and scattered storms. Given the very humid airmass in place, I can’t rule out a morning shower or storm, but the best chance of scattered storms will develop during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will top out in the mid 80s on Saturday.

A weakening cold front will push into the southeast on Sunday and Monday, helping to enhance our rain chance both on Sunday and on Monday. It will not rain all day, but look for a good chance of atleast a few passing downpours during that time-frame. The best chance of getting a storm on Sunday and Monday will be during the afternoon and evening hours, but a few overnight and morning storms are possible.

Drier air will take over on Tuesday, with rain chances coming to an end for our area. Highs will remain in the 80s with lots of sunshine by mid week.
