Rain, Rain, Not Going Away! @wvua23 #alwx

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.pngThe day started off very pleasant in the upper 60s high 80s for the afternoon but it will be ending with more showers. There were some reports about wind damage to structures from falling debris and hail. Temperatures right now are in the lower 70s upper 60s and will stay in the 60s for the evening. Rainfall totals for this afternoon:

Birmingham: 2.65 in

Montgomery: 4.50 in

Tuscaloosa: 0.62 in

Anniston: 1.37 in

Tomorrow there is some inconsistency between models and the National Weather Service about the timing of the showers but there will be rain throughout the day. The main concerns for tomorrow will be similar to the conditions today.
Over the next several days some cities to the east can expect to have collected over 2 inches of rain total and in more central Alabama around 1.5 inches. (Excluding Birmingham and Montgomery who have already passed those numbers)
A cold front moves into the state Monday morning and you can expect times of sunshine and clouds with a chance for showers. Most showers will be in the early morning hours. You won’t feel the cool air yet with highs will be in the lower 80s. Tuesday will start cooler in the lower 60 and rain will continue with some stronger systems. Nothing is looking severe at this time but conditions may change. Right now the main concerns with this storm is lightning, strong winds, and hail.
Wednesday will be the last day of showers. Highs will be in the low 70s and Wednesday night into Thursday morning lows will fall in the mid to low 50s!
Sunshine returns next Thursday and will stay into the weekend!
