Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather has become hot this afternoon, with temperatures in the lower 90s as of 4pm. Expect temperatures to remain mild this evening under a mostly clear sky. Dewpoints are slowly increasing, which will keep temperatures higher tonight than previous nights. Expect lows in the upper 60s overnight.

A few clouds increase during the afternoon on Wednesday, with a very small chance of a stray afternoon shower or storm. The risk of rain is only at 10%, so I wouldn’t count on rain tomorrow. As dewpoints increase, the risk of scattered afternoon storms will also increase for Thursday. Look for a 30% coverage of scattered afternoon storms, with the better chance over west Alabama.

Upper air ridging will intensify some on Friday, reducing the risk of a stray afternoon storm to 10%. Highs will reach the low 90s on Friday and Saturday.

An upper air trough will dig to the west of Alabama on Saturday, allowing for clouds to increase by late afternoon and evening. There is a chance of a few scattered storms by Saturday evening and Saturday night. As the upper air trough gets closer Saturday night and Sunday, tons of tropical moisture will get pulled northward into Alabama. Uplift, as well as plenty of moisture available will help to bring several rounds of showers and storms during the day on Sunday and possibly into Monday morning. Rain amounts on Sunday and Sunday night will approach 1 to 2 inches in our area, which is something we need…
