Hot Days Ahead! Sunday Eve Forecast Update 9pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

A Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Our local weather turned out fairly hot this afternoon, with highs in the middle 80s. Skies are clear tonight and dewpoints remain low. Expect a fast drop in temperatures overnight, with a low in the upper 50s by sunrise Monday.

Upper air ridging will really heat our local temperatures this week and will deflect the main storm track to our north for atleast the next 5 to 7 day. Highs will top out in the low 90s on Monday through Wednesday. As a south wind develops on Tuesday and Wednesday, dewpoints will begin to rise. You’ll notice an increase in humidity by the middle of the week and the comfort level will really begin to go down. A few cumulus clouds arrive on Wednesday, with skies becoming partly cloudy during the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday. There could even be a stray shower on Thursday, but most areas will remain dry.

A weak surface front will approach the area next weekend, with maybe a small chance of a stray shower or storm. It will greatly depend on where the front stalls. At this point, it appears the front will remain far enough to our northwest to really limit the rain chance next weekend. Temperatures continue very warm!
