Few Storms Tonight… Nice Mother’s Day… Friday Forecast Update 4:22pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday afternoon! We’ve had several waves of showers and storms impact portions of west and central Alabama today, but it is not an all day type of rain event. Since storms are scattered, there is a huge range in precip totals so far. With a surface low moving in from the west, I expect the risk of scattered to numerous showers and storms to continue, then gradually come to an end after midnight. Temperatures overnight will drop into the low 60s.

The airmass becomes a little more refreshing on Saturday, with upper 70s to low 80s during the afternoon with low humidity. There will be some morning clouds on Saturday, but I expect sunshine to return by noon. Lows at night will reach the upper 50s both Friday night and Saturday night. Highs will approach the middle 80s by Sunday afternoon.

Highs return to the 90 degree mark early next week and skies will remain mostly sunny. I don’t expect any major rain chances ahead for a while, so conditions may start to get a little dry next week.
