Hot Temps! Rain on Friday… Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather started off very nice this morning, but the sun really warmed temperatures this afternoon. As of 4pm, most observations are reporting temperatures in the middle to upper 80. Expect temperatures to drop into the 60s overnight, with low 60s at sunrise Wednesday.

Upper level ridging will continue to build over the southeast on Wednesday, allowing temperatures to warm into the low 90s in some areas. Expect lots of sunshine on Wednesday. As a weak upper air trough swings across the southern Plains on Thursday, clouds will rapidly spread into the area. Expect highs well into the 80s on Thursday, with skies becoming mostly cloudy. Rain is not expected during the day on Thursday.

As a weak cold front and weak surface low associated with the trough moves through the area on Friday, expect a soaking rain and some thunder to overspread the area. It will not rain all day on Friday, but parts of the day will be wet. Take the rain gear with you on Friday! Rain amounts will vary between 1/2 an inch and 1″.

The airmass becomes a little more refreshing on Saturday and Sunday, with upper 70s to low 80s during the afternoon and low humidity. Lows at night will reach the upper 50s both Friday night and Saturday night.
