It has turned out to be a nice Tuesday afternoon, with lots of sunshine and warms spring temperatures. Expect clouds to gradually increase tonight as moisture increases. We’ll remain dry, with a low in the middle 50s.

Clouds really begin to increase on Wednesday, as a surface low and cold front approach from the west. Rain and storms will break out ahead of the front and move into west Alabama Wednesday evening into Wednesday night. While thunder is expected, I don’t see a severe weather risk with this event. Storms will continue to track southeast across west and central Alabama during the overnight hours Wednesday night. Areas south of I-20 could get up to 1″ of rain, with lower amounts to the north. Occasional showers can be expected on Thursday behind the cold front. Highs will remain in the 60s on Thursday with a cool west breeze developing. Keep the umbrella handy on Thursday, as passing showers and drizzle will be around for much of the day.

The risk of a few showers will remain in the forecast into the day on Friday, but I don’t expect an all day rain. We’ll struggle to reach the lower 60s on Friday, with a chilly northwest breeze.

Skies will become sunny on Saturday, with a chilly morning temperature in the middle 40s. Highs will reach the low 70s Saturday afternoon. We’ll reach 80 by Sunday afternoon under a sunny sky. Our local weather will remain quiet through atleast Tuesday of next week.
