Good Monday afternoon! Today has turned out hot and rather muggy, with a mix of sun and clouds. Some areas have had a passing storm or two, but the main coverage of showers and storms continues to be over west and over north Alabama. Storms in that portion of Alabama remain scattered. The risk of scattered storms will continue through tonight, mainly northwest of I-20. Temperatures will fall into the low 60s overnight.
Expect a few scattered storms on Tuesday, but mainly north of I-20. While there is a fair chance of a passing storm, this will be far from an all day type of rain. Highs will remain in the 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday. I expect more sunshine than clouds on Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will reach the upper 80s on Thursday.
A few scattered showers and storms will become possible Friday afternoon. As a deep upper air trough develops to our west and progresses eastward towards Alabama, showers and storms will develop Saturday afternoon. Storms will push through Alabama sometime Saturday evening into Saturday night. There is a chance of a few storms during the day on Saturday, but the main window of storms will arrive during the evening and overnight hours. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but we’ll need to keep an eye on trends incase a few strong storms could become possible.
