Good Thursday afternoon! Today’s weather is much more quiet, but conditions remain breezy. A strong pressure gradient between a high to our west and a low to our northeast has really created breezy conditions since yesterday evening. Winds will drop into the 5 to 10mph range tonight and light to calm by Friday night. Expect temperatures to drop into the low 40s tonight, under a clear sky. A few areas north of I-20 could drop into the upper 30s.
Friday looks really nice, with lots of sunshine and a high in the upper 60s. As the trough moves to our east and ridging slowly builds in from the west, I expect temperatures to modify through the weekend, with lower 70s on Saturday and upper 70s to low 80s on Sunday.
There’s no active weather in the forecast for the next 7 days, but a weak front may get close enough to north Alabama to produce a stray shower or two on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the risk of rain looks really low at this time.
