SPC has put out a severe thunderstorm watch for Sumter, Marengo, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, and Coosa County in our coverage area until 8am Wednesday. The main risk with storms developing early this morning is large hail and damaging winds. As instability increases in the area later this morning, a tornado risk will increase.
Storms are developing now on radar, generally south of HWY 80, but are moving north. Keep an eye out if storms move your way, they could easily produce large hail and damaging wind gust over the next few hours.
