Warm Tuesday, Storms Again Wednesday…Monday Forecast Update, 4:50pm.

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Monday evening! Storms wrapped up early this morning for west Alabama, and they lasted a little bit longer for east Alabama, until just after the lunchtime hour. Skies will generally continue to clear overnight with temperatures remaining average. A few could see some very light isolated showers east of I-59. Tuesday will serve as a buffer for our next chance for severe weather. Temperatures will be warm with skies remaining mostly sunny.

Wednesday will have storms starting off early in the morning and lifting to the northeast. I am going to keep our severe weather chance pretty far east compared to others. My thinking is that storms will not become organized enough until later in the day, when it is already part-way through the state. There is still uncertainty with this forecast though. We will keep watching this system closely and make updates when they are available.

A few showers could linger into early Thursday behind the front. After Wednesday, temperatures drop significantly. Areas north of I-22 will seem some very chilly temperatures Thursday and Friday night with lows dipping into the upper 30’s. Go ahead and make plans to protect any plants that you might have already planted since they may be affected by the cooler weather. With no major forcing taking place, cool weather will get locked into our area for a few days, and even into next weekend.

The weekend looks very nice with temperatures in the 70’s both days and lots of sunshine. I would say it is fair game to make any outdoor plans you want.

The start of next work week for now looks to start dry, but warmer. Either late Monday or Tuesday may bring our next chance for rain; however, that is still far out and is subject to change.
