Showers will Continue… Forecast update 7pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.pngThis morning started off warm! Temperatures at the start of the day in the mid 60s in Birmingham, low 60s in Tuscaloosa. With a mostly clear morning and early afternoon temperatures reached into the 80s for the afternoon. Tuscaloosa almost beat its record high for this day at 83 with the record being 85.

Clouds began to move in during the afternoon for mainly northern Alabama and they’ve seen the greatest rain today. Severe thunderstorms have come in with this trough, however the greatest threat and damage we’ve seen so far has been from hail produced by these storms. Severe weather possibilities continue this evening with a decreased risk as you move later into the night and early Tuesday morning. Tomorrow expect some scattered showers throughout the day. These will be very light rain and be short-lived.

Wednesday a ridge will move in bringing warmer dry air with a good amount of sunshine and temperatures in the 80s. This nicer weather will be short as another trough quickly moves in Wednesday night with storms on Thursday. These storms have the chance to become severe with large hail, strong winds, and a possible tornado.

Friday afternoon the moist air will start clearing and temperatures will be nice in the mid 70s to make for a nice start to the weekend.

By Sunday another storm system will make its way in the area.
