Here’s a quick update on the risk of a few strong to severe storms this evening and early tonight. SPC has placed all areas generally north of HWY 80 under a slight risk of severe weather this evening. This risk will begin in north Alabama after 6pm and reach the I-20 corridor sometime between 8pm and 10pm. The risk of anything severe will likely diminish by midnight across central Alabama, as instability dies out and the best uplift moves northeast of Alabama.

The risk types are primarily large hail and damaging winds. Again, this is a rather low end risk of severe storms for this evening and tonight, but be alert incase a severe storm approaches your area.
