Very Warm Wednesday, Cool Thursday, Warm Weekend…Tuesday Forecast Update – 4:25pm #alwx @wvua23

Good Tuesday afternoon! Our local weather has included lots of rain and storms through much of the morning and afternoon. As of 4:25pm, rain and storms continue for areas generally near and east of I-65, but the heavy rain in east and portions of central Alabama will come to an end over the next few hours. A few isolated showers or maybe a storm or two will be possible into the evening hours.

Wednesday will feature a very mild day, with highs easily reaching the upper 70s across west and central Alabama. As a cold front moves southward across Alabama Wednesday evening, there is a chance of a few storms along the front. If storms actually develop, they stand the risk of producing damaging wind and hail. The risk appears isolated…

Expect chilly air to return to Alabama on Thursday, with highs in the lower to middle 50s, with a north breeze. Lows Thursday night will drop into the lower 30s, with a freeze and frost for many areas. As the trough rapidly moves east, we can expect a warming trend on Friday, with a high in the lower 60s.

The weekend will include spring-like conditions, with highs reaching the low 70s on Saturday and middle 70s on Sunday. Clouds increase over the weekend, with a few isolated showers possible on Sunday.
