3pm Tuesday Radar Update… Storms Continue for Some Areas… #alwx @wvua23

At 3pm, we’ve still got areas of heavy rain and intense storms across portions of central and west Alabama, with storms thinning out over northwest Alabama near and to the northwest of Tuscaloosa. A few isolated storms continue in east Mississippi, and those storms are moving towards west Alabama. The widespread heavy rain and storms will gradually move east and out of the area between now and 6pm, with just isolated showers and storms possible after 6pm.

For the rest of the afternoon and evening, I don’t expect any severe weather issues. Some storms that remain across our area will be intense and produce heavy rain and frequent lightning, but organized severe weather is unlikely. Again, radar should gradually calm down over the next 3 to 4 hours, as the core of the most intense storms and widespread heavy rain moves into Georgia.
