Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather has turned out very mild this afternoon! At 3pm, temperatures were generally in the lower to middle 70s, under a partly sunny sky. There is no rain on radar at the moment, but showers will increase late tonight and on Thursday. Temperatures will drop into the lower 50s by sunrise Thursday morning.
For Groundhog day, temperatures will be cooler compared to today’s warm air. Highs will dip into the upper 50s, under a mostly cloudy sky. A few passing showers will remain possible on Thursday and Friday. As the cold front continues to drift southward through central Alabama Thursday and on Friday, cooler air will continue to spread southward. Highs will top out in the lower 50s on Friday, with lows in the middle 30s by Friday night.
Saturday will feature seasonal weather, with highs in the upper 50s, under a partly cloudy sky. Highs will warm into the 60s on Sunday and approach 70 on Monday. Expect a fair chance of showers on Sunday, with the risk of showers much more isolated by Monday. Another cold front is set to arrive on Tuesday and into early Wednesday of next week. That will feature a risk of rain and storms across west and central Alabama.
