Dangerous Storms Approaching… 3:50am Saturday Update – #alwx @wvua23

Good morning! At 3:50am, we’re watching very heavy rain and storms move into west and central Alabama from the southwest. We’re about to get a tornado watch for a good chunk of central Alabama, as rotating storms back in Mississippi push into southwest and portions of central Alabama.

The main risk of severe weather this morning will start shortly and end from west to east by mid morning. The highest risk of severe storms will be generally to the south of I-20, but a severe risk is possible as far north as Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Anniston. Storms could produce very heavy rain, intense lightning, large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes, especially south of I-20. Be weather alert this morning!

Keep in mind, we go live non-stop on TV on WVUA during tornado warnings. You can go to wvua23.com, scroll to the weather tab and click on Live severe weather stream to watch from your computer or smart phone. We will also facebook live severe weather coverage. Just look for WVUA23 on facebook!
