6:40am Saturday Radar Update… Storms Moving East #alwx @wvua23

gahhhhhhhssss.png

At 6:40pm, all warnings have expired, and the severe weather risk has ended for areas to the west of Marion and Centreville. There is no risk of severe weather for cities of Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Anniston and points north for the rest of the morning. The main risk of anything becoming severe will continue for areas near Clanton and Rockford and points south for the next couple of hours. I expect all of central Alabama and east Alabama to be out of the severe weather risk by 10am.

We continue to get damage reports out of Marengo County. It looks like a tornado tracked out of Choctaw County into southwest Marengo County and impacted areas near Putnam, Miller and Dixons Mills. There are trees down and structural damage there, and we’ll continue to update you on what happened there as new information comes in.

Heavy rain continues to fall for most of central and west Alabama, but rain will be ending from west to east over the next few hours. By 10am, the rain will have ended for most of west and central Alabama, as this wave comes to an end.
