Strong Storms Ahead…Friday Evening Update, 7:15p.m.
January 20, 2017 Leave a comment
Good Friday evening! We had nice, mild weather to finish off our Friday. Tonight, we are going to see increasing clouds before strong storms arrive around 3AM-very early in the morning. That said, make sure you are staying weather aware. We do not want anyone to be caught off guard by today’s nice weather creating a false since that nothing bad lies just in the future. The severe weather will arrive in a series of multiple rounds, so tomorrow morning will not be our only shot at severe weather. Another round of severe weather exists for Saturday evening, into early Sunday morning. Meanwhile, during all of the storms and rain, temperatures Saturday will be very warm and muggy thanks strong southerly flow from the gulf. Sunday, after the storms, another band of rain will arrive, along with a few rumbles of thunder. Atmospheric conditions by Sunday will have finally calmed down enough to not support severe weather.
Next work week, a few lingering showers are possible for early Monday morning for those up and out early for work. By lunchtime though, rain should have come to an end and maybe even a few peaks of sunshine will start breaking through the clouds. Tuesday will be much nicer with a mix of sun and clouds during the day; meanwhile, temperatures will be closer to a seasonal average, but still slightly warmer. The return to winter temperatures will come after a front passes Wednesday and Thursday. With that front will be some scattered showers.
