Forecast Update for Next 7 days… Friday Update – 10:30pm #alwx @wvua23

7 Day -SHELTON STATE Forecast - Offset Lows - PM.png

Good Friday night! The winter storm has ended across central Alabama tonight, but roads will remain in very dangerous conditions overnight and into the morning hours on Saturday. Please avoid travel if possible tonight into tomorrow morning.

After all of the winter weather issues today and tonight, this forecast discussion is strictly to focus on the days ahead. Temperatures will be in the middle to upper teens tonight, Saturday night and Sunday night. Highs will only top out in the lower 30s on Saturday. Fortunately, with the sun out, roads should thaw out by noon across most of central and west Alabama. Highs will reach the upper 30s on Sunday.

Monday, the deep upper air trough will gradually lift out, and temperatures will begin the recovery process on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will reach the mid 40s on Monday, then low 60s on Tuesday. Clouds increase on Tuesday and Wednesday, and a few isolated showers are possible both on Tuesday and Wednesday. Look for highs in the lower 70s by the middle of next week.
